Point Fortin woman arrested after marijuana found in cupboard

A Point Fortin woman was arrested and a quantity of marijuana seized during an anti-crime exercise by officers of the Point Fortin Police Station on Tuesday.

Officers of the South Western Division Task Force and La Brea Police Station executed a search warrant at the home of a 31-year-old woman at Fortune Street, Egypt Village, at 11:45 am.

The search resulted in a black plastic bag containing six transparent plastic bags with three kilogrammes of marijuana being found inside a cupboard of the house.

The drug has an estimated street value of $30,000.

The woman, who was in the house at the time of the exercise, was arrested in connection with the find.
