Police: 12 held in connection with gang-related activity

Police said 12 people were taken into custody in connection with gang-related offences.

The 12, who are between the ages of 18 and 56, were held this morning during a police operation

Loop News was told the operation was carried out by officers of the Northern Division, under the supervisions of Snr Sup Montrichard, ASP Gyan, and Insp Pitt.

The operation, which was led by Sgt La Pierre, also included officers attached to the NDTF-West, NDTF-East, NDTF-Central, Tunapuna Warrant Staff, La Horquetta Crime Patrol and Canine Unit.

Police said between 4-8 am this morning, officers went to several homes in El Dorado and Tunapuna, where they conducted the searches, leading to the detention of the 12 suspects.

A 40-year-old woman was also detained on an outstanding TAC (Time Allowed Commitment) arrest warrant .
