Police: 22 ticketed for speeding near Charlieville

Twenty-two persons were ticketed during police exercises in Charlieville and Morvant, according to police sources. 

Loop News was told that 18 persons were ticketed for speeding along the northbound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway, in the vicinity of Charlieville.

In Trinidad and Tobago, the speed limit for highways has been set at 100km\h.

The operation was supervised by Snr Sup Ramkhellawan, and support was given by Insp Maraj, Sgt Gordon, Sgt Ramroop, Cpl Dwarika, and Cpl Thomas, among others.

It took place between 8 am and 11 am on Saturday.

Four other drivers were issued tickets for a variety of offences including driving while using a mobile phone, driving without a permit, driving without insurance, and driving a defective vehicle.
