Police arrest 12 Venezuelans at house in Cunupia

Twelve foreign nationals discovered residing illegally in this country were arrested, during an anti-crime exercise conducted by officers of the Central Division in the Cunupia district on Boxing Day.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) made the revelation in a media release on Thursday.

Spearheaded by Senior Superintendent Seepersad, officers of the Central Division Task Force carried out the exercise on Wednesday in the Central Division.

During the exercise, the officers went to house along Welcome Road, Cunupia, where they found 12 Venezuelans who were suspected of being in the country illegally.

Following enquiries, the immigrants were detained and handed over to officers of the Immigration Division.

Investigations are continuing.
