A total of 26 persons have been arrested in connection with shooting incidents as well as possession of firearms, narcotic possession and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
These arrests occurred during a joint police and army exercise in the Carenage district over the weekend.
During the period Friday 15th to Monday 18th March 2019, Western Division officers along with members of the Guard and Emergency Branch, Canine Unit, Air Support Unit and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, carried out intense anti-crime exercises.
Seven out of the 26 persons arrested have already been charged and are expected to make court appearances later this week.
Inquiries are ongoing into the remaining detainees.
