Police ask for public's help in Penal triple murder

Police are calling for the public’s assistance in solving the triple murder which was reported in Fazal Street in Penal on Sunday night.

“Someone would have seen something or known something. This incident happened in a neighbourhood, where most people know one another, or know what is going on. But even if someone from outside of the community knows something, contact the police."

"Regardless of whatever motive would have been behind this, three persons are now dead from one incident, and there is someone responsible for this, and that individual needs to be brought to justice,LoopTT was told by senior officers in the district.

The deceased from Sunday’s incident were identified as David “Fitz” Critchlow, 35, Anton Darrel Soodeen, 35, and Maverick Marcano, 38.

They are all said to be from the Point Fortin community.

According to police reports, around 8:00 pm on Sunday residents of the area heard several loud explosions, followed by a horn blaring continuously.

Upon investigating, they found three men in a silver Mazda 3 vehicle which was parked along the roadway.

All three were nursing gunshot wounds.

The police and paramedics were notified, however, all three victims succumbed to their injuries.

The scene was visited by a team of officers from the Homicide Bureau, and the South Western Division, led by Snr Sup Deonarine Basdeo and Sup Winchester.
