Police destroy $2M in marijuana in San Juan

An anti-crime exercise in San Juan on Wednesday led to the discovery and subsequent destruction of an estimated $2 million worth of marijuana.

The exercise was carried out between 4 pm and 7 pm on Wednesday.

Officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force, including officers of the Canine Unit went to a house at La Fortune Extension, San Juan, where they conducted a search and found 200 kilogrammes of marijuana and 400 marijuana seedlings near the property.

The officers also discovered a quantity of car parts which are believed to have been stolen.

Investigations are ongoing.
