Police destroy $600K worth of marijuana in Las Lomas

Six hundred thousand dollars’ worth of marijuana trees were destroyed by officers of the Central Division Task Force during a marijuana eradication exercise in Las Lomas on Sunday.

The exercise was conducted around 11:30 am, during which, officers proceeded to a forested area off Salvory Road, Las Lomas No. 1.

There, they found one marijuana field containing 1,000 fully grown marijuana trees, two hundred seedlings and a camp which were subsequently destroyed.

The trees have an estimated street value of TT$600,000.

The exercise was coordinated by acting Snr Supt Inraj Balram.

Investigations are ongoing.
