Police destroy marijuana trees in St James, Diego Martin

Several marijuana trees were destroyed by officers of the E999/Emergency Response Patrol Branch during anti-crime exercise in the Western Policing Division on Saturday.
According to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, officers proceeded to a forested area off Dundonald Hill, St James, where they found and destroyed a marijuana camp and uprooted 100 semi-grown marijuana plants.
Police also destroyed equipment and chemicals used to cultivate the illegal narcotic.
The officers then proceeded to a forested area off Persad Street, Diego Martin, where they seized over 80 marijuana seedlings along with other paraphernalia used in the illegal cultivation of marijuana.
They also conducted several road checks and received information critical to anti-crime fighting efforts.
Snr Supt Cooper and Supt Mark coordinated the exercise.
Investigations are continuing.
