Police detain seven in Operation Strike Back in Northern Division

Seven persons have been detained by police in Operation Strike Back exercises conducted in the Northern Division, according to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).

The exercise, which was coordinated by ACP (Ag.) McDonald Jacob and spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Curtis Paul, began on Thursday and ended on Friday afternoon.

During the exercise, officers conducted several searches and executed warrants in the Maloney, Malabar, La Horquetta and St. Joseph police districts. 

This resulted in the arrests of seven men; one for possession of a firearm and ammunition; three for possession of narcotics, one for obstructing a police officer and the last for enquiries into a housebreaking incident. 

Officers also issued 50 fixed penalty notices and wrecked 11 vehicles for various traffic offences.
