Police dish out 44 tickets, while three held for DUI

A police exercise in the Northern Division overnight has led to 44 persons being issued speeding tickets, and three persons facing charges of driving under the influence.

The exercise took place in various areas throughout the district, including along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

The exercise took place between 11pm on Friday and 3am today.

It was supervised by Snr Sup David, and included assistance from Insp Hinkson, Sgt Adimoolah, Cpl Wellington, Cpl Bissoon, WPC Alves, and WPC Foster, among others.

Police are reminding citizens to adhere to road traffic regulations and laws, noting once again that traffic exercises will be taking place on a continuous basis as the Carnival season approaches.
