Police find over $4.1M worth of cocaine in Carenage

More than $4 million worth of cocaine is now in police possession following a Joint Army-Police Patrol exercise in the Carenage district on Wednesday night.

During the exercise, officers went to a boatyard in the area, where they observed three men acting suspiciously. Upon seeing the officers the men ran off.

A search of the area was made and officers found 10.4 kilogrammes of cocaine wrapped in 10 packets inside a black suitcase.

The cocaine is valued at approximately TT$4,160,000.

The exercise, which was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Mark, included officers of the Carenage Police Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
