Police investigating burglary at Valencia Secondary School

Valencia police are investigating a report of larceny at the  Valencia Secondary School.

The school was secured on Friday afternoon by its principal, who then went away.

However around 3:00 am on Monday, he received notifications from Blink Security, informing him that the alarm at the school had been activated.

When officials visited the scene that night, they reported that nothing appeared to be amiss.

Later that day, persons who went to the school made a report that it had been broken into.

Several items were missing including $7,000 which had been kept at the scene.

Entry was gained by cutting a hole in the fence to the northern side of the compound, then through a space on the ceiling of the building.

CCTV footage on this incident has been secured and is being examined.

WPC John is continuing inquiries.
