Police investigating skeletal remains found in Gran Couva

Police are investigating the discovery of what appears to be human skeletal remains in Gran Couva forest on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, the discovery was made around 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoon, about three kilometres into a forested area near the Gran Couva main road.

The remains were found in a patch of grass which appeared to have been burnt.

A team of officers from the Central Division and the Homicide Bureau responded, and the bones have since been seized.

A burnt pair of slippers, and what appears to be the burnt shell of an electronic device – suspected to be a cellular phone – were found near the bones.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police directly, or they can give the information anonymously through 555 or 800-TIPS.

More on this as it becomes available.
