Police: Investigation on triple murder close to completion
Investigations into the death of three relatives in Arima are drawing to a close as investigators are hopeful to approach the Director of Public Prosecutions today.
The three relatives, 39-year-old Damian Chunisingh, his sister Polly-Ann Chunisingh, 31, and their uncle Randy Chunisingh, 55, were all found dead on the morning of January 6.
They had been strangled.
The 30-year-old suspect, who is from Pinto Road, Arima, was held on Tuesday during a police operation by officers of the Northern Division and is being questioned on his knowledge of the incident.
The bodies of the three relatives were all found at 8.00 am on Monday in Randy Chunisingh’s home on Getwell Avenue, off Pinto Road, Arima.
Their bodies had also been bound.
Residents told police that early Sunday morning they heard a sharp sound like a scream, however they said it was brief and no further commotion was noticed, so no one thought anything of it.
The bodies were only discovered on Monday when relatives visited the home in Getwell Avenue, after not being able to reach on to any of the deceased all day Sunday.
More on this as it becomes available.
