Police issue 65 speeding tickets in four hours

Police said they issued 65 tickets in a space of just four hours along the Southern Main Road in Valsayn.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service said in a statement issued Thursday that the drivers were issued fixed penalty notices for speeding during a police exercise in the St Joseph district.

Police said one driver was travelling as fast as 88 kilometres per hour in a 50-kilometre-per-hour zone.

Officers of the Northern Division Speed Unit carried out the exercise between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm on Wednesday September 12, 2018.

The exercise was spearheaded by ACP (Ag.) McDonald Jacob and supervised by Insp. Naim Gyam of the St Joseph Police Station.

The TTPS urged drivers to adhere to traffic regulations.
