'Police' kill man at girlfriend's home

A 30-year-old man was gunned down around 3.15 am on Thursday by two criminals posing as police officers.

David Doonie of Mulligan Drive, La Horquetta, was sleeping at his girlfriend's home in Malabar when the gunmen stormed in.

They shot him several times before fleeing. His girlfriend was on the bed but was unharmed.

Neighbours heard the ruckus and contacted police.

However, Doonie died at the scene.

According to police, Doonie's death could be linked to a shooting in Malabar last week which left one man dead.
