Police officers called to the bar

Five police officers were ‘called to the bar’ on Friday during a ceremony at the Port of Spain Assizes.

These officers will, therefore, be able to practice law in Trinidad and Tobago.

The officers are Inspector Ramsaran, Sergeant George, Sergeant Mungroo, Corporal Bassant, and Woman Police Officer (WPC) Prince.

The officers studied through the University of London, and then through Staffordshire University.

Speaking to LoopTT on Monday, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social and Welfare Association, Inspector Michael Seales, commended the officers who were involved.

He said that they worked hard to attain their goals, and they should be proud of their achievements, especially as it bettered themselves, and the police service.

Seales noted that he was himself an attorney and he had gone through the same rigours of balancing further learning with daily policing, and that what these five individuals achieved  was something which should be recognized and praised by all, as more importantly, it set an example for everyone around them to see that no matter how difficult, dreams can always be achieved.
