Police officers robbed at gunpoint
Arima police are investigating a report in which four officers were robbed on Saturday night.
The victims are a 28-year-old woman attached to the Human Resource Branch, Administration Building, a 36-year-old woman attached to the Inter Agency Task Force, a 32-year-old man attached to the Western Division Task Force, and a 37-year-old man attached to the Western Division Task Force.
The group of friends and colleagues were liming in the Arima district when around 9.20 pm on Saturday they went to a car park along Sorzano Street to retrieve their vehicle.
It was here that they were approached by two men.
Upon reaching the group, one of the men pulled out a firearm and announced a hold up.
The four officers became fearful of their lives and they were relieved of their cash, jewellery, and cellular phones, together valued TT$52,900.
The suspects then ran off and escaped.
