Police recover stolen van in Belmont

A vehicle which was reported stolen from a Central Businessman was recovered by police in Belmont on Thursday night.

According to police reports, the vehicle - a Nissan 350 Urvan (Panel Van) - was recovered during a police exercise by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force.

Between the hours of 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm Thursday, the officers conducted various exercises in the Laventille, Morvant, and San Juan, communities.

During these exercises, the officers received key intelligence which led them to an area along St Francois Valley Road, Belmont.

It was here that the stolen vehicle was seen and seized.

It is currently being held at the Morvant Police Station under the watchful eyes of officers of the North Eastern Division.

The owner of the vehicle, LoopTT was told, has already been contacted.

Arrests are said to be imminent.
