Police recover stolen vehicles, closing in on suspects

Vehicles stolen from a family in Chaguanas have been recovered less than 24-hours after two armed assailants robbed a family of their cars and an estimated $9,000 in cash.

And while the suspects are said to still be on the run, police believe they are closing in on the bandits.
The two vehicles, said to be a Hyundai Tuscon and a Nissan Navarra, were stolen at gunpoint during a daring daylight robbery in Endeavour, Chaguanas, on Friday.

On Saturday, officers of the North Eastern Division, under the supervisions of Snr Sup Sagramsingh, with assistance from Inspector Russel Maraj, PC Hosein, and PC Adonis, received information which led them to the carpark area of Almond Court, Morvant.

A search of the vicinity was conducted around 1 pm, during which the two stolen vehicles were recovered.

Inquiries into this incident are being continued by Inspector Maraj and team.

The unit has also been praised by senior officers of the North Eastern Division, for their quick responses.
