Two vehicles, which were reported stolen from areas as far as Freeport, were recovered yesterday in Laventille.
In one incident, the vehicle, a silver Nissan Wingroad, was reported stolen from its owner at 3:30am on Sunday from Chickland Road, Freeport.
At about 7am yesterday, officers of the Besson Street Police Station, including PC Rosado and PC Davis, were conducting patrols along the Old St Joseph Road, when upon reaching the vicinity of the Ninth Storey plannings, they were told about a stolen vehicle. As they arrived, they found the car.
The vehicle was seized.
It has since been examined by Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) for fingerprints and has been returned to its owner.
At about 11am yesterday, another team of officers, including Cpl Baptiste, PC Alleyne, and PC Ramsaroop, were conducting patrols when they received intelligence that led them back to Ninth Storey.
Here, the officers found and seized a White Wingroad, which had been registered as a taxi.
The vehicle was seized and examined by CSI officers.
In both reports, the rear window of the vehicle had been broken, and the ignition had been tampered with.
