Police recover vehicle after Cascade woman robbed in driveway

Police were able to recover a stolen vehicle just hours after it was taken from a woman at her Cascade home.

According to police reports, the 36-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint while entering the driveway of her home in Cascade around 3:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were told that the woman was driving her black Nissan X-Trail SUV into her yard when she was approached by two men armed with firearms.

The men announced a hold-up and proceeded to rob the woman of over $50,000 in jewellery which she was wearing.

They then left the scene in the woman’s SUV.

She was not injured in the ordeal, police said.

The police were notified and officers from the Port of Spain Division conducted searches.

After receiving certain intelligence, by 5.30 pm police successfully had the vehicle in their custody.

However, the other stolen items were not recovered.
