Police rescue homeless man from flood waters

The victim was then awakened by loud noise, following which he was surrounded by rushing water. The man raised an alarm and persons nearby notified the police.

PC Lightbourne, PC Rosado, and WPC Bernard leapt into action, and were able to pull the man out of the raging water before he drowned.

He was then taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was treated and observed

PC Lightbourne has been praised by the senior officers in his district for leaping into the waters of the river without hesitation.
