Police are said to currently be on the scene of a homicide at Trou Macaque Road, Laventille.
According to initial information, which is subject to further updates, officers of the Besson Street Police Station received information of a shooting in Laventille around 1:45 pm today.
A team of officers was dispatched to the scene and when they arrived along Trou Macaque Road, in the vicinity of the Morris Marshall Development Centre, they observed a parked vehicle with a man slumped over against the steering wheel.
There appeared to be several bullet holes in the vehicle, and the man appeared to have been injured as well.
Upon checking, officials observed the man was unresponsive.
The area was cordoned off and officials are currently awaiting the arrival of a district medical officer and crime scene investigators.
There was no identification of the victim up to 2 pm.
