Update: La Horquetta shooting victim identified

Update January 19, 2020, 2.54 pm:

A man who was shot dead in La Horquetta over the weekend has been identified as 28-year-old Fenwick Young

Young, 28, was from the community and was known to police for incidents in his past. However, police said they have no motive as yet for his killing.

According to police, around 11.30 pm on Friday, a report of loud explosions was received by the La Horquetta Crime Patrol. The officers went to the location to make checks but found nothing.

Officers returned to the area around 8.30 am on Saturday and discovered the body of a man lying in a track between Phase 7, La Horquetta and Greenvale.

The body, police said, was about 50 meters south of the roadway, and about 10 feet away from an abandoned house.

The body bore multiple gunshot wounds.

A team of officers from the Northern Division and the Homicide Bureau, under the supervisions of ACP Belfon, Snr Sup Paul, Inp Birch, and others responded.

According to police, around 11.30 pm on Friday, a report of loud explosions was received by the La Horquetta Crime Patrol. The officers went to the location to make checks but found nothing.

Officers returned to the area around 8.30 am on Saturday and discovered the body of a man lying in a track between Phase 7, La Horquetta and Greenvale.

The body is believed to have several gunshot wounds.

The victim is a man of mixed descent, believed to be between 18 – 25 years of age and between 5 feet and 5 feet 8 inches. He has a tattoo on his right shoulder.
