Police seize $350K worth of marijuana after tip off
Two men have been arrested and 35 kilogrammes of marijuana with an estimated street value of $350,000 were seized by police following an exercise in the Charlieville district on Wednesday.
Around 2:45 pm, officers of the Traffic and Highway Patrol Branch (THPB) received information that a silver Hyundai Tucson vehicle with two male occupants was transporting narcotics along the Uriah Butler Highway.

The officers then positioned themselves strategically and were able to intercept the vehicle and conduct a search.
The officers discovered 35 packets containing marijuana with an estimated street value of TT$350,000.
The two suspects; a 31-year-old and 25-year-old of Beetham Gardens and Port of Spain, were cautioned of the offence and subsequently arrested.
Enquiries are continuing into the matter.
