Police seize guns, ammo in Maloney
A Maloney man is expected to appear in the Arima Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Police say Shaquille Charles, 21 was held during an anti-crime exercise which took place in Maloney from 12pm on Saturday to 12am on Sunday.
Officers of the Maloney Police Station, acting on information received, arrested and charged Charles of Building 5, Maloney Gardens, for possession of one black Colt .45 pistol and seven rounds of .45 ammunition.
In a separate incident, officers discovered one black .38 Special revolver and five rounds of .38 ammunition at Building 5, Maloney Gardens.
However, no one was arrested in connection with the discovery.
The exercise was supervised by W/Sgt Grant, Sgt. Dedier and included a party of officers from the Maloney Police Station.
