Police use drone to recover stolen car in Maraval

Drone technology was utilised by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Air Support Unit in the successful recovery of a vehicle on Friday evening, which had been stolen from the owner during a robbery that occurred earlier that day in the Woodbrook area.

Responding to a report that a white Suzuki Vitara was stolen at gunpoint, the Drone Dragonfly 2 was utilised in a joint exercise in the Maraval area, including officers of the Stolen Vehicles Unit, the Western Division Task Force and the Maraval Police.

The vehicle was positively identified in an isolated area along Clovis Street, off Morne Coco Road, Maraval. The drone was used to provide aerial support and safety to responding ground units during the recovery of the vehicle and processing of the area.
