Port of Spain shooting leaves one dead, another injured in stabbing
A 20-year-old man is dead following a shooting incident in the capital city on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kyle Vickers of Oxford Street, East Dry River.
According to police reports, at about 10.30 pm Monday night, residents of Building 44 along Nelson Street, Port of Spain, heard several loud explosions and notified police.
Upon their arrival, they found Vickers bleeding from multiple gunshot injuries.
The wounded young man was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital, however, he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Security guard stabbed in Port of Spain
In a separate incident, Port of Spain Division police are investigating a report of a stabbing.
The incident reportedly took place on Monday night and involved two security guards.
While information is still coming in, the injury of the victim was said to be serious but is not believed to be life-threatening.
The victim was stabbed in the abdomen.
He is currently warded at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
The other security guard is said to be aiding with inquiries.
