POS City Corp. reminder: Food businesses to be registered

The Port of Spain City Corporation is reminding businesses in the sale of food that they must be registered annually with the corporation in order to be compliant with the regulations set in the Public Health Ordinance.
These businesses must also be inspected.
Inspection fees are as follows:
For food establishments/premises who also sell liquor - $1000
For food establishments/premises who don’t sell liquor but have 1-3 handlers - $200
For food establishments/premises who don’t sell liquor but have 4-9 handlers - $300
For food establishments/premises who don’t sell liquor but have 10 and more handlers - $500
First-time applicants will also have to attain approval from the Town and Country Planning Division, Fire Services Division and Water and Sewerage Authority (where applicable). They will also need to provide a detailed floor plan and a completed Schedule 1 form.
