Pregnant woman still in custody after stabbing man Loop News Created : 22 January 2018 Crime A 27-year-old pregnant woman remains in police custody following a stabbing incident on Friday. The woman, who is two months pregnant with her fourth child, reportedly fatally stabbed 31-year-old Dayananad Dookie at their apartment along Solomon Drive, off Chin Chin Road, Cunupia. According to police reports, at about 4:30 pm on Friday, the two were engaged in a heated argument in the kitchen at the home. The woman told police that she was being slapped repeatedly by the older man against a wall in the kitchen when she managed to get her hands on a knife. She said that, in self-defence, she stabbed at Dookie to ward him off. However, to her horror, the knife went in further than intended. The police were immediately notified and Dookie was rushed to the Chaguanas District Health Facility. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. An autopsy is expected to take place today at the Forensic Science Center in St James to confirm the cause of death. More on this as it becomes available.
