Preliminary inquiry begins for officers charged with murder

A preliminary inquiry into the 2016 murder of Adelle Gilbert, in which two officers are the subjects, has officially started.

However, at the start, 44 statements have already been tendered into evidence.

This is because the matter is proceeding by way of paper committal.

Donald Snaggs and Peter Farnum are the subjects of the inquiry.

The matter is being heard before Magistrate Jo-Anne Connor in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court.

Snr Sup Kenneth Galindo is the complainant in the matter.

The State is represented by attorney Angelica Teelucksingh-Ramoutar.

Gilbert was shot dead on October, 20, 2016 along Lawrence Street, San Fernando.

Attorneys Stephen Wilson and Keith Beckles are representing Snaggs and Farnum respectively.

The matter is expected to resume next Thursday.
