President Carmona leaves for The Netherlands

President Anthony Carmona left for The Netherlands on Friday.

He left for The Hague, Netherlands where he will address the Ceremonial opening of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

During the President’s absence, Senator Christine Kangaloo, President of the Senate, will act as President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Carmona's term as President will end on March 19.

The Electoral College meets on January 19 to elect the sixth President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Retired Justice Paula Mae Weekes is so far the only nominee put foward for President.
