President invites students to plant trees for International Day of Forests

The Office of the President says primary and secondary school students have been invited to engage in a tree planting initiative with a view to sensitising young people on climate change, the mal-effects of deforestation and the importance of preserving our biodiversity and plant life in this beautiful Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
International Day of Forests was established on March 21, by resolution of the United Nations General assembly (UN) on November 28, 2012. This day is celebrated on March 21, to raise awareness of the importance of forests for the benefit of current and future generations.
