Princes Town panty thief sentenced to 30 days
A Princes Town labourer has been sentenced to 30 days hard labour after he pleaded guilty to breaking into a woman’s home and stealing her underwear.
Dennis Raj, 49, of Iere Village, Princes Town, was accused of breaking into a woman’s home in Williamsville on Saturday, where he allegedly stole five panties, three bras, two undervests, and a ladies top. The items of clothing had a total value of $600.
A report was made to the police and enquiries carried out by PC Ramkissoon led to the arrest of the 49-year-old and his subsequent appearance before Princes Town Magistrate Wendy Dougdeen Bally.
Raj plead guilty to the offences and told the court that he stole the clothing because the woman owed him money.
However, he refused to disclose why he chose to steal those specific articles of clothing.
After further submissions, Raj was sentenced.
