Princes Town woman beaten at NGO after duped by fake donors
Princes Town police are investigating a report where a 21-year-old woman who helps operate a non-profit organisation in Princes Town, was assaulted by three armed men.
The incident allegedly took place on March 11.
According to reports, the victim was at her home along Tramline Street, Princes Town, where she operates the organisation, when around1pm that day, three men came to her home.
She let the men in after they told her they were there to make donations. Once inside, they announced a hold-up.
They demanded cash from the victim and a struggle ensued, during which the 21-year-old woman suffered a blow from a hammer to her head, as well as several cuts to her face.
The victim raised an alarm and the men escaped by running away emptyhanded.
The victim sought medical attention at the Princes Town Health Facility, and the police were notified.
A team of officers from the Crime Scene Investigations Unit, including WPC Beetan and WPC Harripersad, visited the scene and workable prints were found.
Arrests are said to be imminent.
