Prisons officer chopped over 'altercation', suspect held

Police have detained one man in connection with the assault of a Prisons Officer in the Valencia district.

According to updates from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the prisons officer was at his home on September 6, 2018, when he got into an altercation with the suspect, which resulted in him being chopped on his forearm with a cutlass by the suspect.

The suspect was subsequently held and is expected to be charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
