Probe launched over viral video of cussing UTT lecturer
A University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) lecturer has come under fire from members of the public after a video of him cursing at students went viral earlier this week.
The 49-second clip depicted the lecturer scolding students who he criticized for not doing their work.
He said, “Listen, listen…it simple, if you don’t want to listen, it simple and you don’t want to hear, pick up your bag and get the f*** out the class…Alright! – because I have classes back to back and I had to tell the next class last week [that] I had four f****** funerals in two f******* weeks to come and f****** sit down here and hear alyuh don’t do alyuh work? Listen, alright. This is what alyuh want to hear?”
The lecturer then folded his arms and lifted up a leg re-enacting how the students sat on their chairs. He said they behaved like “big a*******.”
CNC3 reported that an investigation has been launched by the UTT following the incident.
They spoke with Education Minister, Anthony Garcia who said he was unhappy with the lecturer’s behaviour, adding that his actions will not be tolerated.
The irate lecturer is said to be among those retrenched by the university with his last days coming up in the next two weeks.
Loop TT reached out to Garcia whose phone went to voicemail before subsequent calls went unanswered.
