Quick work by police leads to recovery of stolen vehicle

The quick work of officers from the Central Division led to the recovery of a vehicle which had been stolen at gunpoint.

The vehicle, a grey Nissan X-Trail, had been stolen on Saturday night from its owner along Mon Plasir Road, Cunupia.

Gunmen pulled up alongside the SUV while it was at a standstill and announced a hold-up.

They then fled the scene with the vehicle, along with cash and other valuables which belonged to the driver.

The victim was not injured in this incident.

The police were immediately notified, and officers used CCTV cameras set up throughout the district to determine that the suspects had driven the stolen car to the Las Lomas community.

The officers notified Las Lomas police and the officers, with assistance from the Cunupia CID, led a recovery exercise which resulted in the seizure of the vehicle intact.

More on this as it becomes available.
