Radio announcer injured in shooting at Chaguanas home

A radio announcer is now hospitalised in a serious condition after he was ambushed by gunmen and shot at least four times on Monday morning.

Andy Williams, 43, told police that around 5.45 am, he was in the driveway to his home at Edinburgh 500, when he was confronted by two men.

The men pulled out firearms and shot at him.

Williams attempted to run to safety but was shot in his back and arm.

The gunmen then fled the scene.

Relatives who heard the commotion, came outside and found Williams bleeding from multiple wounds.

The police were notified and the injured man was rushed to the Chaguanas District Hospital for treatment.

A team of officers under the supervisions of Snr Sup Simon and Sup Mystar visited the scene of the shooting.
