Charges to be laid in assault of news photographer Loop News Created : 29 September 2017 Crime Recommendations have been given by senior officers in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to charge a police corporal as well as a senior security official with assaulting a media employee. The two were under investigation by officials from the Professional Standards Bureau, led by ASP Hunt, following allegations of assault made by photographer Kristian De Silva. De Silva claimed that he was assaulted by two men on September 15 while standing on the public roadway outside of A&V Drilling and Workover Limited in Penal. Recommendations have been given for the two to be charged with assault and that there should also be further charges of perverting the course of justice and malicious damage. As a result, investigators are expected to approach the Director of Public Prosecutions on Friday for instructions on how to proceed against the two men.
