Missing man identified as car thief who died in August accident

A 24-year-old man reported missing on August 26, has been confirmed dead.

Jamal Bonafacio Moora of Guaico, Tamana was identified by his father Bonafica Moora and his sister Adaiah Moora on Tuesday.

Five days prior to being reported missing, Moora got into an accident at Antigua Road and the Churchill Roosevelt Highway while driving a stolen Tiida vehicle. Police say the owner was stabbed prior to the incident. The car slammed into a Toyota Hilux which was transporting watermelons. The driver of the Tiida was burnt as the vehicle caught fire soon after.

The body remained unidentified until his loved ones confirmed his identity at the Forensic Science Centre through dental records, partially burnt boxers and a pair of Timberland boots three weeks later.

An autopsy conducted on Tuesday revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the chest.

He would have celebrated his 25th birthday last Saturday.
