Report on 'strange vehicle' leads to recovery of stolen car

Residents who reported a ‘strange vehicle’ parked along their roadway in Diamond Vale, aided police in recovering a car which had been stolen at gunpoint.

The vehicle was a black Kia Cerato.

It had been stolen along Tragarete Road, at gunpoint at about 10.45 pm on Monday in the vicinity of Mario’s Pizzeria.

Sometime after, residents of Pearl Place, Diamond Vale, observed the strange car parked along the roadway, and notified the police.

Around 10.00 am Tuesday, a team of officers led by Cpl Thomas and PC Sheppard visited the scene and seized the vehicle.

It is expected to be examined by crime scene investigators and dusted for fingerprints.

Police hope arrests are imminent.
