Residents spend night on roofs in Kelly Village

Some residents of Kelly Village spent the night on their roofs, as heavy rainfall and flooding continued to wreak havoc across Trinidad and Tobago on Friday night.

Photos showing residents camped out on their roofs were shared on social media.

One resident, Priya Teemal appealed for help in a Facebook post.

“Please if anyone knows anyone who can help us. We are on our roof: 3 dogs, 2 elderly persons, my husband and myself… Seunarine Trace, Kelly Village.

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley is on his way to St Helena/ Kelly Village, where he says he understands the situation is severe.
