'The Resistance' vandalises Guardian Media building
The Guardian Media building at St Vincent Street, Port of Spain was vandalised by a man calling himself ‘The Resistance’ early on Sunday.
According to reports, around 3 am, a security guard spotted the man spray painting the glass panes along the front of the building.
On checking he found these words spray-painted on six glass panes: “TTUP NATION THE RESISTANCE ON BEHALF OF T&T WE SAY NO LOCKDOWN, NO MANDATORY MASK WEARING, COVID NUH REAL.”
Another glass pane had been broken.
The police were immediately notified but the man was not held.
Several buildings in Port of Spain area have been similarly vandalised, disputing the presence of COVID-19 in T&T.
‘The Resistance’ took credit for an incident on August 8, where the ground floor of the Ministry of Health building along Park Street was set on fire.
The blaze resulted in an estimated $2 million in damage while operations at the facilities were affected for several days.
DCP Jayson Forde is spearheading inquiries into this matter.
