Man robbed of licensed firearm by masked bandits

Police are investigating a report in which a licensed firearm was stolen from a 44-year-old man.

The incident allegedly took place around 8:00 am in Rio Claro.

PC Jaikaran is continuing inquiries.

The victim was not hurt in this incident.

According to reports, the victim was driving his beige Hyundai Tucson SUV west along Charuma Junction Road, Rio Claro, when a white Nissan Tiida pulled in front of his path.

The victim brought his car to an immediate stop to avoid impact.

However, before he could react, two men with masks over their faces and both armed with firearms, exited the Tiida and announced a hold-up.

They took a brown coloured pouch that he had between the two front seats, before returning to the Tiida and fleeing the scene.

In the pouch, LoopTT was told, was a Glock 19 pistol loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm.

There was also a magazine outfitted with another 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition, as well as the Firearm User License, and $13,500 in cash.
