Road partially collapses in Tobago

The public is advised to exercise caution after a road partially collapsed in Tobago.

The Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) said in a statement Friday that the slippage occurred at Charles Lane, Providence, Tobago

“Road Slippage at Charles Lane, Providence, Tobago. At approximately 1:00 pm, TEMA received reports that portion of the road at Charles Lane, Providence has slipped.”

TEMA said CERT is on the scene conducting a Preliminary Damage Report.

In an unrelated incident, photos were shared online showing a collapsed road along Wharton Street extension, Laventille.

Residents said the collapse was partly due to a leaking water main.
