The mother of Chairman of the National Women’s League of the People’s National Movement (PNM) and Arouca/Maloney MP Camille Robinson-Regis has passed away at the age of 94.

Dorris Robinson (nee Williams) passed away early on Thursday.

The politician confirmed the passing of her mother via a Facebook post on Thursday.

She wrote: "It is with a great sense of sadness that I announce the loss of my beloved mother, Dorris Robinson. My mother lived a full life and was loved by all. She was 94 years old.

Our comfort is knowing that she is now in the caring arms of our Lord. May she rest in eternal peace."

The Women’s League extended condolences to Robinson-Regis on the passing of her mother.

The group paid tribute to the Robinson matriarch as it chose to remember her resourcefulness and dedication to her family.

“Mrs Robinson was a woman of substance, an entrepreneur and beautician who dedicated her life to her family.

She was the mother of three sons and three daughters including the Honourable Camille Robinson-Regis. Mrs Robinson was a pivotal individual in the life of our Chairman.”

The Women’s League also recalled that Robinson- Regis would often attribute her political career to her mother, as she was the one who encouraged her involvement in service to her country.

The League wished its Chairman and her family moments of peace and comfort during their time of grief.
