Romanian-made assault rifle found in Felicity

A Romanian-made assault rifle was recovered in Felicity on Thursday after an anonymous report was made to the Chaguanas Criminal Investigative Division.

According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the informant reported observing a dark-coloured sack resembling a gun case at Connector Road around 9 pm.

Ag/CPL Baboolal, PC Baptise and PC Flemming, of the Chaguanas CID, proceeded to the location where they observed the sack, as described by the informant.

Further examination revealed a Romanian-made assault rifle with two magazines and fifteen rounds of 5.56mm ammunition. Inquiries are continuing.
